Remove vbadvanced
Hi,
I want to remove vbadvanced from my site and make it into a normal vbulletin board. It does have vblogetin installed also, I'm not sure how that work, or if it matters if that's installed or not. I've found a couple of pages that say to do the vbadvanced install in reverse, but I just got the site off someone else and I never installed vbadvanced before so I don't know what the reverse is. Can someone give me simpleton instructions of how to get rid of it? I just think it makes the site too complicated for what I want. |
Go to vBAdvanced's website: http://vbadvanced.com
Download a copy of vBAdvanced and take a look at the Installation Instructions -- that's what you need to do in reverse. It should simply be a matter of uninstalling any Product XML included; I believe they include a stand-alone installation script, so you'll need to run that and choose to uninstall it. |
Actually the way they have it doesn't look so bad:
I just want this page: http://www.bodyforlifeforum.com/forum/index.php to display like this page: http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/index.php showing all the details and posts like an ordinary vbulletin forum. I thought it was vbadvanced making my site look like poo, but it must be just some settings somewhere I guess? If I could get it to work like the vbadvanced site I would leave it as it is, well and make a nicer skin too. |
Wow. You have indeed got a heavily modified index there.
Just so there's no confusion, this is vBAdvanced: http://www.bodyforlifeforum.com/index.php This is your Forum's main page, which is totally unrelated to vBAdvanced: http://www.bodyforlifeforum.com/forum/index.php You either need to revert several templates or start using a new skin to get vBulletin's default functionality back. |
I suspected as much right after I posted, it's the template that is the stinking pile of donkey poop. I will look for a better, functional template and see how it looks then.
Thanks. :) P.S. Do I need a special template for VBAdvanced, or will any 367 compatible template be ok? edit: never mind I just found a post that says vbadvanced takes it's info from whatever template you use with vbulletin. |
Precisely. :)
