Weird CHMOD error
hey guys, hopefully someone can help me out.
Ive always used ibproarcade(thanks mrzero) and well i never experienced any issues. Right now on this new site im putting up im having this weird issue with the arcade. I cant install any games from the arcade Cpanel, i always get this mesage /home/kenotia/public_html/test/arcade/gamedata is write-protected. Please change CHMOD to 0777 via FTP. yeah i kno what that means, and i can guarantee you that i tried to do so, both 777 and 0777 but still no luck = / any suggestions? any help will be appreciated, thanks! oh idk if its important, but i have Vbplaza installed. and my forum version is 3.5.8 |
I encountered the same issue, when I check it, the gamedata folder was gone, I couldn't see it anymore, all of a sudden those v32 games use this folder coulnd't submit score anymore!!!! It looks like the system lock the gamedata folder somewhere that makes even admin still have no access to restore it. I called my host to do the job for me....still waiting for them to restore it...
This script still has lots of issues that drive me crazy sometime....:( |
if you are installing a game VIA TAR extension, it may be an issue with your FTP manager, try the following.
extract the contents of the TAR archive. you should get two gif images and one swf file (which is the game) and one PHP file. upload all of these as you would when manually installing a game. But don't upload the PHP file as you do not need it when uploading games manually. chmod the two gif images and the swf file to permission set to global, 777/0777. if this works, then you have a problem with chomding the contents of teh TAR archive. |
