Low cost servers with high bandwidth
 

Hello pals,

Im looking for a "low" cost server that allows me to deliver big ammounts of data transfer. I'll be basically using this server as a download server, so I can releave my other servers for mysql, images and php processes. So this server wont need to be running a MySQL server or anything, possible just php.

I am looking for at least 2TB bandwidth and 100/200Gb storage capacity.
Let me know if you find something like what I am looking for.

For what you need, there is no such thing as "low". Try iweb8.com and their un-metered servers. Their data center is very clean. Prepare yourself to pay at least 500/month. Since you need to release a lot of data, you will need ultra fast drives, so the price will go higher.

I know there is no such thing, i really dont want to pay for an unmetered server because Im not quite sure if I am going to use it au large.

you don't really need a server with 'ultra fast drives', you could try http://fdcservers.net/ it's shared unmetered bandwidth but you should be able to push 5-9TB/month or for a server in the EU http://www.leaseweb.com/index.php?p=dedicated

Honestly, getting a "low cost server with high bandwidth limits" basically means 1 of 2 things (or both)
1) They oversell
2) they are a very crappy host

Usually the more expensive it goes the better it is, but I would still look into the host, get background information etc before you make the plunge

When reffering to low cost i am thinking about 150$ as base, does anyone know servers with unmetered dedicated servers and how much this unmetered connection cost?

dedicated 10mbit unmetered connections alone can start around $130 / $150. They could go in the thousands for 100 mbit dedicated port connections

unmetered == capped ... 100% of the time...
