Mass delete or ban users bases on email address

I have tons of spammers and bots signed up using mail.ru addresses and some others. Is there a way to search for and then mass delete or ban all users who have registered with a mail.ru email address. I would prefer to ban them, rather than just delete them.

There is no mass nor mass delete. Are all those bot using close to same IP?

If so, read the vBoptions on how to ban those IP using the asterisk *

Thank you EvilAkuma. Unfortunately, they are going through a proxy or something so they all have a different IP.

Is deleting them as simple as logging in to mysql and doing something like this:
>>delete from user where email like '%mailru%';

Or to ban them all could I:
>> update user set usergroupid = '20' set usertitle = 'Banned' where email like '%mail.ru%'

Does anyone know if anything other than the users table holds info on the users and if changing this would be a solution?

I've searched through most of the tables and it looks like the user table is the only one I need to change. Does anyone else have any information on this at all? It would be nice to hear another opinion before I do it.

There is no built in function to mass delete users by email address in any version of vbulletin...

the database queries mentioned in the 3rd post will work just fine...

In phpmyadmin go to your database and run the query:

Code:

delete from user where email like "'%mailru%"
will delete every user with "mailru" in the email address.

But manually running queries can be dangerous!!! 1 little typo and you might end up deleting everyone so before you ever think about doing this make sure you have a backup of your database.

Is there nothing else you need to do? Such as update other tables, like the PM one etc?
