vb.org and vb.com

My venting was deleted from the other thread because it was considered "off-topic" :rolleyes: although it looks much more like retaliation against negative feedback.

I was "allowed" to post it in a different thread, so here it goes again.

================================

vb.org seems a little too serious for my taste

I'm getting tired from here and vb.com, where I was warned not to advertise free mods (??) after I made blog entries talking about my mods here. Whatever the reason you can't talk about free mods on vb.com, Jelsoft doesn't encourage people who donate their free time to make add-ons to make the forum better, and instead seems to treat good mod writers like marginals, vb.org being the ghetto. Am I not to feel good by doing cool mods for vb, should I hide myself? I'll keep releasing mods just because I want to help fellow administrators, not because I want to help Jelsoft if they treat us like something that doesn't exist.

==============================

Also I'd like to point out the disrespect that is closing threads on the assumption that you are dealing with a kid. I'd expect more respect, being a member here since 2001 and having released great mods that helped a lot of administrators with their boards. You should use some common sense and realize an off-topic message isn't the end of the world, and either is a joke. All this micro-managing moderation is going to make the site too dull, you may like it but I don't. Seems like there are too many moderators out there with nothing better to do than members.

my two cents. peace out

Yes, your post was off topic. Not considered "retaliation against negative feedback". If you have feedback make your own thread instead of hijacking someone elses.

Dream,

I understand how you might feel about the whole coding deal. My suggestion: find a website that does vBulletin coding (such as theforumworks.com) and help dedicate your time there, where your mods will be very helpful and you will actually get noticed for them

well i dont know about all the politics that go on but i really appriciate your work and you made my site a better place.

populating a vb site can be a very tough task. there is a ton of competition out there. and im not talking only vb sites. if it was not for vb.org and the coders that support this software and make add ons and hacks for vb then whats the difference from the other forum software out there. i might as well get a free solution. vb out of the box is quite boring and nothing cutting edge over the competition. i pay my money because of the mods and support that are available here. thats why vb is the best available on the market imo.

but anyways... thanks again. :)

Closing a thread is not meant to be disrespectful, please do not take it personally. :(

Your request was answered, and the thread was closed - this is SOP for handling feedback threads.

I am a joker...I like to believe that I have a sense of humor. Joking and having fun is good for the community, but Off-topic threads do not belong in the Site Feedback forum, this is a forum for serious feedback.

I think that vb.org should have a radio channel. :) I can't seem to get that line "and now for the latest headlines from Paul M... Paul?"

Yours 07-19-2007 02:32 AM

aahahaha thats horrible of you =D

A radio.. lmao ahahahaha

A thread can contain two or more parallel discussions. I wasn't "hijacking" anyone's thread.

Thanks Yours, but it's in this site that the majority of forum owners are.

If that was aimed at me, thank you :)

It was a serious suggestion. vb.org should use the good mods available, such as the Post Thank You hack, isn't this the mod community? To showcase them and because they are cool. And I'm not talking about my mods.

I don't agree with this style of moderation, it's overkill. Just a friendly opinion.

I didn't suggest vb.org create a radio channel, that's not what my mod does. Read the thread again.
