any fast help appreciated Crisis averted, my tech guy sorted it out, my board was hacked sometime last night by efsane20, they apparently entered a redirect file so my sent went directly to a page he created, any info on avoiding this in the future appreciated, if anyone has any email addresses for vbulletin tech support that would be great, once again sorry for posting on the wrong forum but for some reason i cannot post yet on the vbulletin.com boards hence my post here!! |
You can always open a support ticket from the Members' Area or alternatively mail to support@vbulletin.com.
PS if you have problems posting on vb.com forums, then please see: Why Can't I Post or Download Files? |
Spoofing is the most popular way of hacking vb boards. The best protection against this that I know is to make sure that you and your staff NEVER log in to your site following a link that someone else entered into a message. Also do not allow your staff free email addresses like hotmail as they can easily be accessed to retrieve mod and admin passwords.
