Merging calendars

Is it possible, through vB core or a hack, to show the events from one calendar in a second calendar?

Say a private user calendar is set up so that users can post their own events and others can't see them. But there is also a community calendar that they refer to for special events and such. Is there a way for the community calendar items to show on the private calendar to more easily see whether the person has conflicting engagements?

Anyone?
