Infraction System Modificaiton Quesiton

I want to modify the infraction system slightly. I have the feature enabled where it posts the infraction in the forum. Is there a way I can change the thread starter to be the person warned instead of the warner? Please let me know how, this is so I can set the permissions to allow a person to see the thread, and give mods permission to respond to any questions/disputes concerning the warning. Thanks!

Yes, you need to modify the template/coding and make the right call for the post/thread starter.

As far as doing it so the user in quetion that was given the infraction can see the post, not sure on that one, never tried it.

Im sure you can post a job for the second part though.

The forums allow you to set the permissions, I just need to figure out how to modify who becomes the thread creator. Once I get that, I can do the rest.

Your gonna have to check the templates/php/phrase, its been a while, but if i recall its in a phrase, i would suggest a search in your templates/phrases for "report".

As far as permissions go, i assume your going to add something there as there is no default setting to restrict a user to just one thread in a forum.

Can you get anymore specific then that? I would have guessed it was a PHP file edit, not a template edit.

As for the permissions, you can set it so that users can only see their own threads. Thus the reason for the whole changing who the thread creator is.

Sorry, i dont use that option much, forgot it was there, ill prolly forget it again lol

No, I only changed the reported thread title, which was a phrase, not a file edit, i changed it to call the reported users name in the title, which isnt used by vb's new version of reporting a post, i was using a older hack, which did it differently and included the usersname in the thread title, ill chk a little more when i have time.
