usergroups dependant on age range

hi all.
i need to add new users to usergroups dependant on their age range, is this possible.

e.g.

9-13 younggroup
14-17 oldergroup
18+ oldest group

seems a simple request, but i cant work it out.

wow, being honest i would have thought that this would have been a standard within vb, but they tell me its a mod, so i have to ask here.

ive been asking about this for a few days, and ive had no responce, is this realy that hard.

it makes sence that you would want to have usergroups based on age, so as you can restrict the content of any of your forums based on age..

any help would be appriciated, i can pay for this if need be, but i do need it sorted.

There is not a mod already available. I really don't know why you'd think it'd be stock functionality...

If you wish to pay someone to make this modification. I suggest you post at Requests For Paid Services.

well if you have a forum , which is a community, the chances are the age range of your members would not be all under 16 or over 30, you more than likley have content that is age group specific im not talking porn but things your 30 somethings may be talking about will probably not be usefull to your under 16's and visa virsa.

so it would make sence to put them into groups right.

it seems an oversight to assume all aged members should be viewing all content.

my opinion, but i think it is valid

All coders/designer with title owns a vBulletin, period.

I see where you're heading toward this. However, there is a defeat to this. What happen if someone decide to make up a fake age? What good does that do if that modification is implemented?

yup, thats true, but with any management system, your in the lap of honesty, why do you think you only have to check "i am exactly 13 or over" on most vb boards...

surely thats the same thing, you are relying on the users integrity one way or another...

it would just help a little to be able to group the members to age range...

im still amazed that no-one seems to be asking the same question.

Well, there is an age lock modification (I don't know if it's for 3.6.x). That can help you if you look into that.

Or better yet, make section that are meant for those ages.

Well most of us don't expect 12 year olds joining our forums...
