Addition to vBadvanced News Function
 
I feel having these function will take the News Module over the top:
  • Being able to label a thread as news on the forum side of the site.
  • Allowing other usergroups besides admins to label news.
  • Allowing news to be labeled by categories that the admin creates.
  • Being able to post news in any forums.
phpBB has a similar modification that allows this called Slashdot Style News Posting. This mod allows for:
  • Slashdot style news postings.
  • News topics are marked in forum view.
  • News categories are easily selected when posting or editing topics.
  • Enable, disable, and set image path from the admin control panel.
  • Easily assign forum and group permissions form the forum and group control panels.
  • Easily add, edit, and delete news categories from the News control panel.
  • Included RSS news syndication, to allow other sites to syndicate your news stories.

See how there is a news archive, categories and it shows how many comments have been posted? If this function could be added to vbadvanced? It would really make life so much easier for numerous admins.
