changing forum icon
 
Hello,
I am working on forumhome template, at the bottom i have put each forum image .. and wants to check if there is a new post in forum then it should change old.gif to new.gif..

can anyone tell me whats the query or way to see whether there is new post in particular forum or not.

its simple forum name and an icon.. could be no new post or new post icon
