Email Address as User Name when registering?

Are there any mods requiring an Email Address for the username, and not requiring another entry into an Email Address field?

I've noticed several sites requiring Email Addresses as User Names. It might be nice to have "MightyMouse" as a username, but for my users, the username is just something extra to remember.
