Upgrading MySQL need help!!!
Hi I have my mysql database at 4.0.27-max-log and need to get 4.1 or higher for a photoplog gallery i have installed so I'm looking to go with the latest version 5, so anyways once I set up the new mysql 5 database how do I go about upgrading my forum database which is 4.0.27-max-log to the new one?
Is their converting involved or something, how does it work? Could I just do a backup than re-upload the database to the new mysql 5 database? Thanks :) |
Upgrading from 4.0 to 5 requires first upgrading to 4.1
In both cases the insall should come with upgrade scripts which should be run on the data The entire process is fully explained on the mysql website http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/installing.html |
