vbulletin with joomla? how?

hi there
i just bought a licensed version of vbulletin that cost me 160$
and i want it to be integrated to Joomla.
how can i do that?

i tried bbpixel but ended up with lots of errors

There's three modifications that can integrate the two pieces of software. vJoomla (currently not available because of exploits), bbPixel, and another one (I don't remember the name, search for it on here).

bbpixel's support is severely lacking. The mods they have released hardly work correctly.

Unfortunately it seems that vJoomla has been set-back by a hacker..which is good I guess, just means it will be more secure once it's released.

I'm using the bbpixel bridge and it works... But that's about all I can say for it. The coding is horrendous. I've found that without the bridge and with caching a "non-logged-in" user page load generates 25 queries. With the bbpixel bridge, that jumps to 98!!!!

While not the optimum approach, you can use the Joomla WRAPPER to "embed" a vBulletin install into your Joomla site.

Just make sure to manage the module position/viability so that they don't interfere with your forum.

Joomla and vBulletin will function normally like this, there is no bridge to worry about. I say it's not optimum because you don't have a common user database, and the forum URLs are not visable (from within Joomla).

The limitations could be a deal breaker, but if you can live with them it's easy and secure (as secure as each app standing alone can be).
