Buddy List Bug...

I've searched for this but can't find anything related...unless I missed something.

One of my users ststed they were able to click their own username in a post and add themself to their own buddly list.

Is there a fix or setting for this that I'm missing?

Thanks in advance...

You can't add your self.

I hate to tell you this, but on my board...you can.

I just duplicated what the user said they did and I was able to add myself to my own Buddy List.

Maybe there's a hack installed that's causing this. I really don't know.

Anyway...I went to one of my posts...from the navbar I clicked the arrow next to "Search" and the pop-up Search Box appeared. I then proceeded to move the mouse pointer over my name in the post, while the Search Box was still open, and another pop-up menu appeared. From there I was able to select the last link that stated "Add Saviour to Your Buddy List". The Buddy/Ignore List opened and I was able to save the list...with my name and a box with a check mark next to it.

By the way...I was able to do it on this forum as well. So...now I know it's not a problem with my forum.

So with the above in mind...your statement..."You can't add your self"...is wrong.

However, I do appreciate your fast reply...

yea that is true, you can add yourself.

Not necessarily a bug though

deezelpope 07-01-2007 09:52 AM

What would you call it? I thought you weren't supposed to be able to add yourself to your own buddy list?

Report this to the vBulletin Bug Tracker (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?projectid=6).

I've reported it as a bug...but what I find funny is that you can't do it on vbulletin.com.

It's also reported under other versions of vbulletin as working as designed. To me this is strange...why would it be designed this way? Why would anyone want to add themselves to their own buddy or ignore list?

Definitely strange.
