AHHH Spam Emails Gone Wild

So I usually get alot of spam emails, but I never really knew how much I got. So i performed a test, only deleted the important emails for one week. I didnt even go the whole 7 days, 6 days in I hit the milit of 999. Thats right, I get a ton of use less spam mail.

That amount of spam actually exists without editing the picture in Photoshop or any other image editor? Wow, that's one spam problem...

Do you often give out your e-mail to random sites or post it online?

bah, any commercial emailer will cut off these spams: gmail, yahoo, hotmail, email.com ...

i got like 10 or 15 spam per day related to bigger sausage... that is strange that they don't provide any solution for the opposite btw...

i also get the viagra variety... they try to write viagra in a different way each time... funny.

the most popular one is by far the "free Vista Absolute"... so if you calculate, Vista is shitter than Viagra and Whiners !

Using Gmail has cut off 95% of the spam I have

Gmail rules. Ever since switching to Google's email alternative, I've hardly received any spam at all. Go Gmail!

"bigger sausage?" haha - I like the way you put things nexialys :P. Yea, I use Gmail for pretty much everything I do - I just like them to my Pop3 e-mail accounts so I can send and receive e-mails from my domain e-mails.

I have a Gmail account but really don't use it much. I use Spamcop. But - Spamcop puts suspect spam in a 'hold' box for review which I then have to delete. I've used SC for several years and I never get 'good' mail in the filter so it's a daily 'chore' to visit the spamcop site and delete the spam. I can't find a way to make the spam in the box just delete its self (so to speak).

Can anyone tell me - Is this the way Gmail works (puts spam in a special mailbox for review), or is it that they just don't accept the spam (or at least most of it) at all?

Gmail shuffles spam into a "Spam" folder. You can then sift through it, empty it, or do nothing and Gmail will automatically empty it every {x} days.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up playing with Gmail a bit yesterday. I was hoping Gmail might have a better way of identifying spam, or at least some of the most obvious spam, and not accepting it at all.

I guess it's not that big of a deal. I get well over 100 spams a day. With all the google space if it rolls off spam older than 30 days that will probably work.
