Attn: Gaming Website Admins.. best way to implement a clan system?

I have just recently started a gaming website (forums.afkay.com). I am thinking about adding the ability for users on my site to create designated areas for their clans. I know this is sort of a general post, but I was hoping some other gaming websites would have similar things that may give me ideas.

Right now, I have a groups mod installed, and am using that. I think I may stick with it, unless I hear something better:
http://www.afkay.com/forums/groups/groups.php?g=25 (what a clan page currently looks like).

doesn't matter, can't see it without registering. Can you provide a test login or open it to guests?

There WAS a better system which was possible with a modification, and I read posts about it while searching. It was removed because it supposedly violated the vBulletin license agreement. Allowed users to create own sub forums and appoint moderators, change styles and ban people.

Sorry about that. You should be able to view groups as a guest.

That is perfect. It's a shame it's no longer around. Anything similar would be nice though.
