Please review GotTwinz?

I'm looking for some honest feedback on my site. We are more than a message board, but I need feedback on everything if possible.

Forums: http://gottwinz.net/forums/index.php
homepages: www.gottwinz.net

Thank you all!

The first thing I noticed upon looking at your site as a guest, I have to scroll way down on the forum index page before I actually see any part of the forums. This is on my 24" monitor running 1920x1200... I can only imagin how far others would have to scroll down to find it.

The other thing I found "un-user friendly" was that you have the post titles centered instead of left justified. For me, this makes it harder to skim the threads to see if I'm interested in reading them.

Im a mom of twins and actually think I might join. But here are some things I noticed.

1. Under your welcome header (down the page some it says
Quote:

Welcome to the [ARG:3 UNDEFINED] forums.
I dont know what ARG: 3 UNDEFINED means. Im sure it should say twiz forum or something like that.

2. Random quote is something about being banned and contacting the BBB...not the best first inpression to a newbie. Since its the first thing you see when viewing the forums.

3. Lots a private forums, makes me not sure if I want to join or not.

4. 5 or so forum with nothing in them. As admin you should try populating these areas with some items so they dont show as empty.

I also dont like the post titles centered I would rather have them on the left side.

Other than that looks good and I am at least going to join.

Interesting. I"m not sure why some of the posts titles are centered, they aren't like that on my computer ( I use FireFox).

And again, I"m not sure why you have to scroll so far down to see the forums.....that's also not like that on my computer. Hmmmm...

As for the forums marked private, they are only private because it was asked of the community that only registered members be able to read most of it...though I'm not sure I like that idea so much and will consider changing it. We dont' have any forums with no posts, the forums on the very bottom of the index are actually links to other sites in our network.

Thanks for the info and I'll definately see what I can do to change it :)

Also, Couponsaremygam, I hope to see you on GZ!

Okay, I see why you had to scroll way down. For some reason the welcome header is displayed twice, once above the quoter and once below. That must have happened in the upgrade. I'll be working on that.

Go to forum permissions and make it so guests cannot see the private forums.

I also see the "Welcome to the [ARG:3 UNDEFINED] forums."

Something else I would be careful of is the use of baby images. I used to work for an education authority and you need written consent off the parents of any minor before even taking their picture, this was difficult at large events as you can imagine.

It probably wont affect you but just something to think about.

Another thing to keep in mind along the same lines as Luke mentioned about the photos, you also need permission from the photographers. Being a professional photographer my self, I'm keen on the copyright issues. That being said, I'm sure you have more then enough parents on your site that would be willing to let you use their photos of their babies.

The photos in the logo and on the webpages are all photos from our members :)

WE've fixed a few things...can anyone tell me how to make it so that the post titles are not centered on the screen? Since they aren't centered on mine, I can't figure out how to fix it.
