Can an admin ban any users for no apparent reason??

Any administrator can ban a user for no reason and no members can complain about it.

However, since a user(s) is getting ban for no reason, than an administrator is abusing the power.

It's like getting a ticekt from an officer without any reason.

See how it works ;)

you can do anything you want its your forum. but you should probably tell your users that you reserve the right to refuse server to anybody at anytime. then they cant really complain when they get banned for "no reason" because there is a reason, your excercising your right to refuse service to that person.

Its always a good idea to write up a TOS (terms of service) that members click to agree to the TOS upon registration. In your TOS you let your members know the rules and one of them should be that you reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Your TOS can be drawn up by a lawyer if you are really concered about CYA (covering your a$$) otherwise just write out your rules and try to cover as much as possible.

Our forum has zero tollerance for Spammers and they get banned right away. Trolls once deteced are banned and anyone that is generaly out and out rude or disrespectufull to a admin or mod is banned. Otherwise we use the infraction system to keep check of rule violations.

Why would you want to ban someone for no reason??? Are you drawing usernames from a hat or something?

G0F0RBR0KE 06-24-2007 06:15 AM

You really don't have to give a reason for banning he/she from the community. If you have the need that he/she doesn't deserve to view the board. Than he/she will get ban without a reason.

You don't have to give a reason, but there must be a reason.

U don't have to give a reason, it's your board. You do what you want.

So you keep saying, but that doesn't address my point.
