VBulletin Options change according to server load
Can this be done? What I have in mind is a hack that would allow you to set thresholds for different settings. ie. Once server load hits 3 then Settings Config 2 kicks in. Once server load hits 5 then Settings Config 3 kicks in, etc...
Mainly the settings to change would be superfluous things like the users viewing forum, users viewing thread, similar threads, etc. I think those features are nice and I would love to use them IF they don't run up my server load. We often get large spikes of traffic (front page Digg or /. post) so I am hesitant to leave these options in place since when we get those large spikes those few settings can make a big difference. Any chance of this ever happening? :) |
