Geotargeted Timezones
 

I was thinking about a mod to auto set the timezone of the board according to the user's IP address. Instead of putting it in default of the timezone set in Administrator.

Since the IP is assigned by the server...
Well, let's put it this way. There's no guarantee that the server will be in the same time zone as the user.
Further, there's no guarantee that the server that assigns the IP won't be moved (not physically), but to a different server in a different NOC.
Further, there's no guarantee the whoever leases that block of IP's won't sub-let some of them to another ISP half a world away.

So you're saying it might not work?

This concept is used to target ads to users by their IP addresses - at least that's where I got the idea.
