More then just forums?
 

My question is how do I add a front page to my site? I've noticed a lot of sites that have an initial page, that has a link to the actual forums. I would like to have a main page, with latest news, hot topics, maybe some pictures and a poll and eventually blogs. Then on the navbar I would like access to calendar, vBRadio and especialy the forums.

Could it be improperly uploading my 'forums' folder to server?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Sorry if I sound completely clueless. I'm new at a lot of this.
I'm just trying to provide sports fans with a fun interactive place to go to discuss sports. Just doing it for fun!
