1 post before users are in register group

I want the new users to post at least one post before they can be in the Register group. How do I do that?

Use the built in promotions system

Admincp > Usergroup > Promotions

I'm interested in this too, though I want ten posts before they are in the "registered users" group. Now, I'm sitting in the admincp > Usergroup > promotions area, and while I see how to set up a promotion from one user group to another, I do not understand how I am to instruct the board to put new users, upon registering, in any other group but the "registered users" group.

Okay, I created a new usergroup called "New Registered Users," that has the attachments "off." Then, I set up a promotions that would promote people from that user group to the "registered users" group after 5 posts. However, when I looked at the Usergroup manager, none were in it, and I know there are users that have less than 5 posts. However, I created a new account and logged in under that account. I was still able to post a picture. The account did not go in the "New Registered Users" group.

How do I accomplish that??

All new users will go into the "Registered Users" group. Create a new group with what ever permissions and set it to promote to the new group.

Thanks guys!! I'll try that

Will that automatically, then, promote all the current registered users into the NEW group that I will have to make as soon as I set up the promotion? Or do I have to do that manually? 'Cause I have like, nearly 6000 registered users...........

Well you have to set up how often you want the promotions to take place under Scheduled Tasks > Scheduled Task Manager. I run the promotion every 10 minutes. So when the promotion runs everyone eligible to promote will promote then or you could simply run the task manually by clicking on "run now" if you don't want anyone to have to wait.

Oh, okay, thanks! :)
