the attachment window im talking about is the one you get when you click on the paperclip icon in thread view seen attached.

Instead of showing links id like to show thumbnails of the images attached to that thread. I dont allow anything other than images to be uploaded so that wont be a problem. Any ideas?

You will need a plugin to do this. The template is the ATTACHMENTS template but the attachments are not pulled in this location as far as I can tell.

cant you just add a <img src="root/something.jpg"> around the bits?
