how can i make a new thread per new member

i wanna have a thread be cerated in a certain section of my forums when some registeres. it will say welcom blah blah

is there a mod out there for this? i couldnt find antyhing

There is a welcome thread modification by amykhar that does this. Probably best looking at her profile and finding it that way as welcome and thread are not included in the search as they are too common.
