image headers on child forums

Hi,

I'm currently using a VBulletin demo ahead of taking out a package. What I want to do is insert a jpeg picture at the top of each individual child forum I have created (one per child forum). For example if I was doing it on here it'd be going to the "vBulletin Pre-Sales Questions" child forum, then entering the jpeg in the space between the User CP bar and the 'Threads In Forum' bar - i.e. the gap on this forum where I can see the following:

Quote:

You are currently showing up as unlicensed. To download mods and/or participate in our community. You will need to prove that you have a valid vBulletin license. To do this, go to vBulletin.com Member Support. Upon entering the support area, enter and/or verify your "Contact Email Address". For further information, please read our "Showing Up As Unlicensed?". vBulletin Pre-Sales Questions: Use this forum to ask questions prior to purchasing vBulletin, regarding existing hacks and whatnot!
I'm new to this so don't know how, from the admin menus, to insert a relevant HTML / image / text box such as the above

any step-by-step instructions appreciated!

many thanks :)

Insert the HTML code in the bottom of the template "navbar".

lynx31 06-02-2007 11:43 AM

Hi,

Thanks for that.

I've managed to get my HTML in between by going to Style Manager > Edit Templates > Navbar

This has made the HTML appear on the front page of the 'parent forum' and all three 'child forums'.

Going from what I have set up below:

(Parent Forum)
---(child forum - Main Forum)
---(child forum - Main Forum 2)
---(child forum - Main Forum 3)

Is there any way I can input different HTML to appear in this space on all three different 'child forums' (main forum, main forum 2, main forum 3)?

Basically, I'm looking for a unique HTML header to appear on each of these sub-pages something like the following:

http://media.rivals.net/media/JPG/2007060200040944.JPG

at present when I put the HTML in it just duplicates on the main forum and child forums, rather than letting me edit each child forum individually?

thanks

<if condition="$foruminfo['forumid'] == FORUMID">CODE</if>

lynx31 06-02-2007 02:28 PM

thanks again (sorry, I'm a bit of a novice at this :) )

so I go to Style Manager > Edit Templates > Navibar, then at the bottom of the HTML box enter the code:

<if condition="$foruminfo['forumid'] == FORUMID">CODE</if>

my Forum IDs show on the Forum Manager panel as:

(id: 2)
(id: 3)
(id: 4)

my HTML code (for a test) would be:

Quote:

<html>

<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type"
content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>Untitled </title>
</head>

<body>

<p>testing 1 <img
src="http://media.rivals.net/media/JPG/2007060200040944.JPG"
width="325" height="327" class="aimg"></p>
</body>
</html>

What would be the correct format to enter this information into the code?

<if condition="$foruminfo['forumid'] == FORUMID">CODE</if>

(I've tried a couple of combinations, replacing the forumid with the forum ID from the Forum Manager page, e.g. (id: 2), and entered the HTML in place of CODE, but can't get it to display?

(thanks for your help on this, the HTML side of it is all a bit new for me :) )

hum, guys.. there is NO demo version of vBulletin... this guy is trying to seduce you and have support on his hacked/nulled version...

He means the demo on the main page, or at least I hope so.

I'm thinking this: http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo.php
But I could be wrong.

actually this is wrong... we can't edit these templates on the demo, AND this is not the place to offer support for hacking, this is the PreSales forum... you don't know, you can be helping a kid that have no license... that's why i suggest nobody help here... i was warned some times because of that already...

Hi,

Our company are using this demo on the VBulletin website: http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo.php. It expires after 24 hours (the style manager system is allowing the templates to change on the demo, although again it's only a 24 hour sample).

We'll be buying the owned licence (?91.00) and professional installation during June 2007. The reason we need to know if it's possible to support images / jpegs on the top of the individual forums is we're going to be paying quite a bit of money for our own graphics to be drawn up, and don't want these to become redundant on our budget if we pay out then can't use them as we're hoping (we've looked at a couple of packages, VBulletin, phpBB, Jive etc.)

We can come back for support once we have a licence, although I'm sure you'll understand we'd ideally like to know what the software can do before we pay out for a subscription, installation, licence and get it added onto a server (is hacking the correct term or would it fall under customization? Again, I'm new to this)

thanks
