single sign-on system with another PHP based application

Hello,

I am searching for a modification, a tutorial or an example to change the user system of VBulletin. It should synchronized with an other PHP based application, so that the username, password und profile data the same at both systems. The intention is a single sign-on system for an own content management system and VBulletin 3.6.x.
