On the verge of purchasing vBulletin, have a few questions

I'm new to the community but expect to be hearing a lot more from me soon as I plan on buying vBulletin later today!

I'm in the process of setting up a new community orientated website. My idea for the site was to have a Wordpress front page and a vBulletin forum. I have a fair amount of experience with Wordpress and generally like how it works so I'd like to continue using it. Furthermore, I'd like to integrate Wordpress and vBulletin if possible. Having had a little search, there appears to be a few mods and such that allow the userbase on vBulletin to be the same as that of Wordpress. I'm not too fussed about the users right now as I may start Wordpress with comments disabled. What I would like however is to have a new forum thread created in a forum section of my choice whenever I post a new article on Wordpress. Is that possible?

Having had a look at some of the mods available, a lot of them seem to specify that in order to work, both Wordpress and vBulletin must share the same database. This is what I wanted to know about it. Seeing as my site will be brand new and I'll be starting from scratch, should I use the same database for Wordpress and vBulletin or is that not a good idea?

I'm completely new to vBulletin (I've only used phpBB before) and essentially I'm just looking to get started along the right path. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's nothing wrong with doing that. Just make sure that Wordpress and vBulletin have different table prefixes (it would be an option in the configuration).
