All users banned? Help!

Hi,

I've logged on tonight to find my admin account is banned on my forum and to make matters worse, all my users (around 10,000) are also banned from the forum.

Does anyone know what's caused this?

Thanks

no, but your logs probably do.

I can't get in to anything, the whole vBulletin system is inaccessible due to my admin account and every other account being banned.

I did a restore from a server backup but now there's a differnet problem.

Members with existing accounts that are set to remain logged in can still get in. Anyone not logged in or visitors get a database error.

Anyone got any ideas what can be causing this?

Thanks

instead of the restore, you should have used the tools.php file to reset your admin account... that's what it's there for, among other things. anyways, use it now to get back in and check your logs and see what's going on.

I have checked my logs and nothing is showing at all for the time that it happened. Nothing out of the ordinary in any of the vBulletin logs.

I disabled all the plugins via the config file, then enabled just the essential few. That cured the problem of not getting access for non-logged in people.

So the mystery as to why all users were banned. It looks like an attack on my site, but not sure how as of yet.

All of my members were banned too - but I have just switched over to vB from phpbb so I attributed the problem to something in the import process. Thankfully by the time I pruned it down there were only 600 members which I had to unban one by one :(

I switched from PHPBB well over a year ago and it didn't do that.

I am just wondering if this is some exploit that someone's used against my site. I was getting DOS attacks before but managed to block those.
