Avoiding a single "orphan" post on top of a page?

Hi

Total newbie here.....

Have just converted a smallish DiscusWare board to an even smaller vB board (some posts got lost :D)

My users were familiar with newest post always at the bottom of the page. With vB we sometimes get a single post orphaned on top of a page, and the conversation doesn't flow. Is there a way of getting vB to show a minimum of 2 or 3 posts on the last page?
