Create discussion thread when creating news thread?

I remember seeing a hack once that when you create a new thread in your news section It can create another thread in another section for discussing the announcement. I can't seem to find it now though after searching several keywords.

I found https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...cussion+Thread but will this still work with 3.6.7?
