Need to create an import script for vbaLinks

I have a spreadsheet with nearly 5 thousand links that I'm trying to import into a vbaLinks db. Any idea how I can achieve this? The spreadsheet has multiple categories and sub-cats and I assume they all need to be assigned ID #'s. Has anyone seen any other import scripts that would be good starting points?
