I want a skin like Ubuntu forums!

I want a skin like the skin at Ubuntu forums. Not the color but how the forums are setup.

Its just subforums arranged into columns? Thats pretty much it

I'm looking for a theme just like that (I'd change the coloring though) or Dani Web style...

anyone seen any out there?

There's a lot more to the "Ubuntu Forums" theme than merely the 2-column subforum listings. Ubuntu-geek and the others at ubuntuforums.org have done a tremendous job of reducing clutter and unnecessary decoration to make those forums really clear and usable. The devil is in the details, and simply adding in the subforum listing doesn't deliver the whole thing.

I'd love to see a vB skin developed that really provides all the features of theirs. Even better, I'd love it if Ubuntu-geek would release that style as open source, so the rest of us could have a crack at helping to improve it even further!

There was some discussion of releasing it in this thread, but there's also apparently a problem with some of the icon art being proprietary. It doesn't seem like this should be insurmountable. Generic, non-proprietary icons could almost certainly be substituted.

Cheers,
Rick

definately, must have been a lot of (thought-)work. Is this guy a freelancer? For my forum I`d need one more level of subforums, I don`t think I could restructure it to just one level.

I am also looking for an ubuntu style display of the forum list. The mod linked above puts sub forums into columns, but I would want everything under categories put into columns. I.e. one level up.
