HELP - Rotate a Post On Front Page

Hi there I really need some help. I am trying to make random threads that are posted in one particular forum show up on the front page of our site we tried using the mod - Thread of the day but it will not work on the latest version of VB.

We are running 3.6.5.

Can anyone please help us to either edit the mod to work or come up wuth any other soloution to our problem?
