Where to post discussion about hacks?
Hi Folks!
So where would I post a question/discussion about the different CMS hacks out there? Thanks! Barry P.S. I'd also like to post if there are any existing hacks for moderating posts AFTER they have been submitted/accepted to the board? Thanks! B |
moderating posts after they are submited is inline... when you read the threads you can choose posts or threads and moderate them at wills: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/ for HowTo...

Instead, I am looking for a way to mark a post has having been reviewed and approved, while allowing un-reviewed /un-approved posts to still exist publicly on the site. That way a team of moderators can review only the un-reviewed posts and review them when they get a moment and the already approved posts don't have to be re-reviewed. Does this make sense? Thanks! Barry |
Im not quite sure what you mean Barry. If they are to be moderated surely you don't want them as public? Thats the reason they are being moderated 1st?

The current choices are 1) moderate/approve before they are public. 2) allow to be public and then delete if neccessary Actually, option 2 is more or less what I am shooting for, except there is no way that I can tell to mark a post as having been reviewed and approved after it's been posted. You can select a given post and delete it or send it to the moderation queue, but there is no way of differentiating posts that have been approved from posts the have not been reviewed yet. This is essential if you are going to have multiple moderators reviewing the posts so they know what the others have done so they don't re-review them Seems really clear to me! |
I see what you mean now :)
I can maybe come up with something for you. |

Ideally, moderators could approve post with one click (AJAX?) and their approval (username, date & time, and comments) should be noted in a log field stored on the post field. It could be stored in a serialized array. The dissapproved option should send an email to administrator. There needs to be search option - for moderators only - to find all un-reviewed posts. I'd be happy to work with you more closely on this if you put a hack together. It would be your hack, though it would nice if you gave me some credit. Thanks! Barry |
