Basic homepage template?

Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction. I have a new forum (www.MYSITE.com/forum) that I would like to integrate into my homepage www.MYSITE.com

Is there a simple and free template that I can use as my homepage (index file)? Ideally I would like to be able to add/edit the text in the center and have some basic stats from my forum on the right and left colums such as a poll and recent posts.

I would really like to avoid having to pay someone to design a page for me at this point and my skills are limited to using notepad or free html editors.

Thank you!

I use vBAdvanced CMPS

Its a portal system but you can manage it and alter to your liking's. Its simple, plus they have tutorials on the site that will guide you in setting up and altering your new index.

Thank you. I actually installed that and it modified all of my forum files in MYSITE/forum. Is there a way to easily use that to add a index file that is NOT in my /forum directory?

Thanks.

LOL, vbadvanced is meant to go in your root directory. Not your forum directory.

Now if you want your forum and portal accessed from the root directory of your site that is easily setup.

LOL.

This is what I have so far. I would like to use this as my index homepage but add in my own custom text and images in the center section

I hope there is an easy way to do this?

Thank you.

Ok I never suggest keeping cmps_index.php, change it to index.php, move it to your mysite.com/ directory and delete cmps_index.php from /forum/ directory. You should be able to access it the way you want then.

At the same time, you would need to add a new module through the admincp and make a new custom template with whatever you want. Move the module to center area and your done. Easier said than done tho.

Cool. I will give it a try. You're the best!

Here is a link explaining how to add a new module: http://www.vbadvanced.com/membersare...tid=4&pageid=2

That should help you alot.
