Really weird posting problem
I have the strangest posting problem that just started yesterday. I have not made any changes to my forums in over a week, so I have no idea why this has started happening.
It started with users reporting that posts were getting cut off when they'd post something. It seemed that anything after a paragraph break wasn't posting. It didn't always happen, though. I just found out what makes it happen... if you have an odd number of apostrophes in your text, any paragraphs after the one with the odd number of apostrophes will not show up (how's that for weird???). If you have no apostrophes, or an even number, your post is fine. I'm guess is has something to do with escape slashes, but I have no idea. My first thought was to replace the files that control saving the post to the DB, but I'm not sure which files those would be. Any ideas? I'm doubting anyone has ever had this problem, but if you have, please let me know what you did to fix it! |
Would be a good idea to post the problem here so the vbulletin guru's can guide you through a possible solution.

I did post there, but I don't expect them to reply. I think they blacklisted me (honestly). I had a disagreement with Steve Machol once and since then, my support threads go unanswered by staff.
