How do I change the Registration message?
 

I want to emphasise the need to provide a valid e-mail address to users at the point that they go to Register. I'd like to make this a bold and unmissable message.

Where would the best place be to do this and whereabouts in vB do I make the change? Would it be within Phrase Manager and if so which would I change?

Yes, phrase manager.

The phrase to edit is: enter_valid_email_address

Just select Copy Default Text and then make whatever markups are necessary.
