Remove Avatars from a particular usergroup?
 

What I am trying to do is keep the avatars allowed for the sponsors user group, but want to take them away from the registered members user group on my site.

How do I remove the avatars for my registered members?

You cannot take away avatars for a group, but you can only add them for every other group. This is the same thing unless users in the group you want to restrict are also in other groups.
In the usergroup manager, select the usergroup to change, then about in the middle are the avatar options. You will be able to disable them there.
