How important apache error.log?
My host told me that my error.log file is too big which is nearly 11GB. Can I ask them to delete it and make it a new one? Is it important? :)

If you have eleven gigs of plain text errors, something is amiss. Can you do a 'tail /path/to/error.log' and post it up?

Sounds like the logfile rotation is not configured.

Do you have a dedicated managed server or do you share web space with others on the same server.
Logfiles normally get 'rotated' once a week. That is, the previous week's log gets compressed and saved under a different name, and a new log starts. After 4 weeks an old log file gets deleted. These time actions and periods are normally set in a script so it is all done automatically. Bob |
I'm on dedicated server. How to configure it? :) Thanks for the usefull helps :)
