Meet subscriptions?
 

Our forum has a section just for meets. People from all over the world will start a thread suggesting people from the surrounding area meet up.

This is great when you keep an eye on this sub forum...but what about those that don't?

I'm wondering if there's some kind of mod out there that lets users subscribe to areas (that can be set-up) that could be used for something like this?

One way I'm thinking of would be to use the calendar function. Perhaps each state in the US would have a section, then each country outside of the US would have a section. You would subscribe to this section and when anything was posted to that section, you would be notified.

Sure, we could create a LOT of sub-forums...one for each area, but that's a LOT of sub forums to create, let alone maintain.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I would go about doing this?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
