After purchasing VB

While probably lame questions, I am only asking because I don't know.

1. After download of VB, do we have to do anything special for configuration? I know that our guys just got a server for VB.
2. After download, does it automatically provide a link to the admin panel?
3. Who sets the admin panel username/pw?

As I am helping a company get going from scratch, I am less familiar with some of the backend technical stuff before pushing the actual forums live (I can obviously run the software).

Thanks, in advance! If I should be aware of anything else, please let me know.

when you first install the software, the process will require you to create the admin account, so you have links and user/pass ... everything work perfectly clear btw, you're never lost...

Everything you ask is explained in the README.TXT and/or README.HTML

you have to edit config.php and rename it frm config.php.new to config.php

yes it does

you set that at installation. www.yoursite.com/forum/install/install.php

Once you download ftp the "upload" folder to werever you forums are going to be( www.yoursite.com/forums), then once that is done you are going to have to edit a file called "Config.php.new", found in the "includes" folder. Pretty easy, just requires your Database Name, its password/username, and your Host. The rename this file "config.pfp"Then you point your browser to the installation process (www.yoursite.com/forums/install/install.php) Then just follow the steps from there, and tada, welcome to your new Vbuletin, hope it helped ya.

P.S. If you need help with installation or mods or skins, feel free to pm me.

Not necessary to apologize. We were all new at one time.
