Is there a way to send an email/PM to a user when they receive an infraction?

They should receive an automatic email when they receive an infraction. That comes by default if im not mistaken.

Admincp > vBoptons > User Infractions & Post Reporting Options > Require Infraction Message

This option requires that the user sending an infraction include a PM or Email, depending on your forum settings.

I think this requires the moderator to type out a reason for an infraction. I just want a PM or email automatically sent when the user receives an infraction. It seems that there is a way to do this, but I can't really find it.

Set up a test user.
Send it a infraction
Log back into the test user and he should have a PM

Yeah I've done that but my test user gets neither a PM nor an email. I'm not filling in anything for the PM box, either. I just want a generic PM/email to be sent saying, "This is a notice that you've received an infraction in the thread blah blah blah."

this is the second unanswered thread and i need the same mod.

Just require an infraction message as Shazz mentioned above, that is the easiest solution.
