Undefined authentication type
I'm having a hard time tracking down what might be causing this.
Basically, an uninstall of a mod was botched and in the process, other things were messed up. Right now, I get this on a white background, no forum, just this text: Undefined authentication type When any users go to access anything in the UserCP, this comes up. Any ideas what could be causing this? |
What was the mod you uninstalled? What happened when you uninstalled?
|
It's a very long story and I'm not 100% on what all happened.
The mod was Zoints local. The uninstall instructions were not accurate and in the process, somehow some files were overwritten. For instance, lets say you have vbulletin/xyx.php and you have vbulletin/z/xyz.php and they are entirely different files...just the same names. Somehow the z/ file ended up under vbulletin. Things were restored, Zoints local was reinstalled and uninstalled correctly, etc. Now, I am expecting to be told to go to those guys for help. However, I don't believe that this issue (and some of the others I'm running into now) has to do with this mod directly, but rather from the files being overwritten somehow. That's why I'm asking for help on what might cause that error. |
Did you try re-downloading the original vbulletin files and overwriting them again?
|
Not yet. There are other mods, and with what happened just yesterday, I'm nervous to do so...lol
I'll be looking to do so next week though when I get back from my short vacation. |
