adding header links

I installed a custom template, and it does not have a parent template, when I try to edit the "navbar" setting, it says "Template is Inherited From a Parent Style" and is colored in yellow, therefore I can't edit it, but it doesn't have a parent style :( :confused:

I tried doing it to the default template, I then change styles and it still doesn't show up
