Moving boards from IPB to VB

I want to move a board from IPB 2.0.4 to Vb 3.6.5

The board has a member base of 1300 and has 125,000 posts made.

The move needs to take all the posts and the members with it if possible.

Could someone please help with a few answers like:

Is it possible?

Is it hard to do?

Whats the chances of screwing it up?

And anything else that you may think that would be useful.

Many thanks in advance.

I think this can be done with Impex. You are able to download Impex once you have bought a VB license.

He obviously has a vb license as he has hacks released here(No flaming intented, just an I told you so kind of thing :D), but I don't know why he is releasing hacks if he runs IPB....anyway....
1- It is entirely possible, download it from the vbulletin.com's member area/
2-Pretty straight forward, just like installing vbulletin. Fill in some server info, run the converer.
3-Not much of a chance, but of course your smart enough to make a complete backup of your board incase it does! Although, all passwords will be lost.

Just to clear thing up, i am already on VB, this is my Wifes board that needs to be moved from IPB

Anyway, thanks for info.

So, all members will have to be issued with another pass to resign in?

All members and posts will stay intact then?

thanks:up:

pretty much. after you import, you'll need to email the members and they will have to request a new password. email addresses will need to be up-to-date and valid for this to work. You'll get some bounced emails, but thats what you need to do.

It should be pretty straight forward then
