Uploading Images?

I know im going to catch some laughs for this question, but im desperate now, lol. Im the "secondary" Administrator for my forum and the primary admin who deals with site layout and related things is MIA. Im still a bit new at this coding and behind the scenes stuff and im learning as I go. I have a few paying sponsors that I need to get banners uploaded for and a few small image type stuff. I have the current banners, etc but have no clue how to upload them or "host" them on the site in order to use the URLs. Is this even something possible through VBulletin or is it something totally separate? I know that other site images/banners/etc are hosted under the sites URL but not sure how to upload them myself. Any help is appreciated.

Im currently running VBulletin 3.6.4

what are you wanting to do with them images? just host them if so then you can just FTP them to the server and then link them, but im confused what you want to do with them on the site like have rotating banners if so there is a hack for that but you would still have to get the images to the server, you can either FTP or go through ACp if you have that but being a secondary admin to the board i highly doubt you have acp or ftp account setup...just a way that i would do it is by ftp, there is also an upload hack to host images kinda like photobucket or imageshack...not entirely like them but uses the board to ftp them to a folder and then you can link them from there...hope some of this book helps...lol

i would say this is more of a server issue than vbulletin one...i think you want to know how to get the images on the server if thats the case then you would need access to the server via ACp or an FTP account created through the ACP....

We have a banner system/hack that rotates every page refresh... FTPing sounds like what im trying to do, I just dont know how to do it. Its only going to be used for my site. How do I FTP an image/swf file to my site? Is that something that can be done through VBulletin or does it need to be done through a program like dreamweaver?

you have to have an FTP account created, and an FTP client then you can just use that to send the image to the server then just have to link it, if you dont have acp access then you cannot create an ftp account.

if you have an ftp account then all you need to do is get an ftp client and enter you login info then navigate to the right folder and upload the image then link it

or if you just have acp access you can just add it from the File Manager in cpanel if you use that, i use cPanel so idk other hosts might not have chosen to use cpanel but thats neither here nor there, first priority is to find out if you have ACP Access or an FTP account access

I know for a fact I have ACP (admin control panel, right?) access... Not sure about the FTP acct access. Im sure I do, just have no clue how to use it or where to find it. I dont see a "file manager" in my ACP though? Where would it be located?

Is your final result to get the images into your banner system/hack? If so, how were the current images placed there?
