Keep post counters even after posts/threads have been deleted.
 
How would I do it?

Have your staff move them into a forum only staff can view. Periodically, you can prune that forum, which does not adjust post counts.

Pruning doesnt affect the post counters? but it deleted them still?

Bear in mind if you Update Post Counts in Site Maintenance, the post count will be corrected (I believe this is the case).
