Help, making CSS changes to vB default.

I'm customizing the vBulletin default skin so far, and would like to know how I can change the background color where the forum markers/icons are on the left, and the "Last Post" and "Posts" box.

Edit alt1 and alt2 in the CSS.

When you change the "Table Border" color it changes the BG where the forum icons are next to the forum names as well.

Can someone help me for I can only change the border color?

Thanks, but still not what i'm looking for.

first alternating color & second alternating color changes the colors your speaking of as stated in post #2 table border should change only as the description "the table border".

I'm talking about the background area where the "Forum Markers/Icons" are. When you change the color of the Table Border it's also the color for the BG where the Forum icons are. I want the table border to be a different color then the BG area for the Forum icons. Here is an example:

If the table border section in the css is changing that area something is not right.

Here's an example of my site both alternating colors in css are black.
