Alright, so heres what im looking to do.

I notice that when using the advanced search feature for member search. You can search by a users post count or AIM Things of that nature. My question is this.

Lets say a user wants to search for another member on a very large board that lives locally, and i have an option for users to enter their location or zip code into the user cp. How can i add that filter to the advanced search?

Are you just looking to have the "location" or "zip code" field show up on the Advanced Search page? If so:

User Profile Fields -> Add New User Profile Field -> Single-Line Text Box -> Field Searchable on Members List -> Yes

I hope I understood you correctly. :)
